The museum village Swolowo is one of the oldest and in its originality best preserved villages in Pomerania. Documented as early as 1230, it was founded as the so-called "Angerdorf". The development consists mostly of large, closed square courtyards, which can be reached through a gatehouse. On the opposite side of the gatehouse is the dwelling house, on the sides the courtyard is bordered by the farm buildings (stable and barn). Swołowo is considered the center of the so-called "Checkered Country", a region that stretches between the Pomeranian towns of Łeba (formerly Leba) and Darłowo (formerly Rügenwalde) and is famous for its unique half-timbered buildings.

Very nice museum village with several half-timbered houses, all in white. There is also a small restaurant and accommodation options. The opening time stated on the internet until 8:00 p.m. does not seem to be correct. I was there at 6:00 p.m. and unfortunately it was already closed.
