The Basilica Saint-Nicolas is a historic monument from the nineteenth century. It was built by John Baptist Antoine Lassus. This building replaces another church, which then became too small and old to accommodate all believers.

Construction began in 1844 and lasted 25 years. The construction of the bell tower lasted no less than 15 years. The builders were faced with difficulties due to the tightness of the country. They had to be an exception to the tradition that all Catholic buildings should point east to the rising sun, which represents the risen Christ. The Basilica of St. Nicholas is characterized by being on a north-south axis.

Neo-Gothic basilica from the end of the 19th century. The church has existed since the 11th century, but has undergone numerous transformations, particularly after its near destruction during the Second World War.
