Directly on the Nahepromenade at the spa park is the only hand-drawn ferry in southern Germany. It connects Bad Münster with the Huttental from Easter to the beginning of November, from where a hiking trail leads to the Rheingrafenstein or the hiking trail to the Kuhberg to Bad Kreuznach.

The passenger ferry on the Nahe is not only a rarity, but also a piece of traffic history, because it was already mentioned in 1721.

The narrow gorge below the Rheingrafensteins, the Huttental, got its name due to numerous mine tunnels, which crossed the area between Rheingrafenstein and Alsenzmündung: Huttental - from Hütten / smelting.

The 2018 season started on March 24th.

The ferry then operates on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm as well as on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. holidays from 9am to 6pm.

In the Rhineland-Palatinate summer holidays (25.06 to 03.08.) Additionally on Mondays from 13.00 to 18.00 o'clock and on Tuesdays to Thursdays also already from 13.00 o'clock.

For groups on request also on other dates.

Every first Friday of the month (May - October), 6.30 pm Wine tasting (five different wines) on the ferry, price: € 15, - / p.P. Registrations required.

The Oldschool Huttental Ferry is still operated quite old fashioned by hand by train on the steel cable. The ferryman is paid "bar on the claw", electronic means of payment are not possible. The best "before" down the descent into Huttental inform if and when the ferry leaves, otherwise you have to pedal a good deal back up and take a detour to Bad Münster in purchasing.
