The moat tower was built in the middle of the 19th century and was part of the military optical telegraph line from Barcelona to Lleida. On January 24, 1939, the tower, abandoned since the late nineteenth century, became a last point of resistance of Republican troops to the Francoist army.
Once restored by Castellbisbal City Council, it is now part of the catalog of 100 elements of Catalonia's industrial heritage.
