Precipice is a kar, a hanging valley left by a glacier, with a sharp edge dropping down to a second kar. Both are filled by lakes fed by melting ice and snow. Precipice lake is deep and crystal clear, an incredible mirror and refreshing to swim in its cold water after a long hike. Good camp spots in respectful distance from the lake.
