There is a small bay with shallow water where children can splash about and watch fish. You can also go into the Ruhr over a few large stones under the bridge or let your legs dangle. There are benches and even a music system, which was particularly well received by the kids. A perfect place to take a break on hot summer days!

The tip is good, but unfortunately we have to warn against bathing and splashing around in the Ruhr. The Ruhr is a mostly fast-flowing watercourse, and rapid currents must be expected, especially at higher levels. Please do not go in there with small children! Unfortunately, there is danger to life, also because suddenly tidal waves can occur because of the dams above!
