Ufnau Island in Lake Zurich
Ufenau (or Ufnau) is located in Lake Zurich and is the largest island in Switzerland not connected to the mainland by a bridge. The island, along with its neighboring island of Lützelau, lies near Pfäffikon SZ. While Einsiedeln Abbey, the owner, uses the original name Ufnau, the Swiss Federal Office of Topography and the Zurich Navigation Company spell it Ufenau.
The island belongs to the municipality of Freienbach (Canton Schwyz) and is owned by Einsiedeln Abbey.
