The nature recreation area Eidelstedter Feldmark in the east extends around the motorway to the Niendorfer enclosure on almost a third of the area of the district.
Green meadows and pastures give an impression of country life in the middle of the big city.
Around 200 hobby gardeners have rented a seasonal garden from the Eidelstedt Ramcke family and grow carrots, pumpkins and beans, among other things.

The Eidelstedter Feldmark is a developed agricultural cultural landscape. The area is characterized by wet meadow protection areas and extensive pasture and meadow areas with ancient hedge sections, which in earlier times served as a natural boundary for pastoral farming.
