beautiful gatehouse to the former Wulfsfelde farm

The Wulfsfelde farm was originally a shepherd's cottage, consisting of a one-story corner building with a thatched roof.
In 1925 the so-called "Hufe" was developed by Dr. Johann Lubinus acquired as a retirement home. His youngest son Walther ran the farm with crops and animal husbandry. In 1932 the building burned down completely due to a chimney fire, and the existing one was rebuilt on the old foundations.
After the dairy cows were abolished in 1972, the cowshed and the hayloft above it stood empty. It was not until 1997, after extensive renovation work, that the "Alte Heuboden" was built as it appears today.
200 m² floorboards, more than 5 m ceiling height, exposed beams and uprights and many windows give the room with a view over the Westensee its special atmosphere.
For 20 years, the old hayloft was used for seminars, weddings, other private celebrations, cafés, children's concerts, public concerts and events organized by the DRK Felde, the parish of Westensee or the Felde volunteer fire brigade. It has been rented out as a co-working space since 2018.
