The village church of Groß Upahl is a field stone church, it was first mentioned in 1357 and 1367 as the church of Groß Upahl. Since 1988, the church has been renovated with funds from a regional church fund and in tedious work after work. The fieldstone masonry was repaired, the roof was re-roofed, the windows were renewed and the belfry was stabilized and then boarded up. The repair work, especially in the interior of the church, could only be continued after reunification and was completed in 1992.

Beautiful village church, unfortunately overgrown and unkempt cemetery area. The whole thing looks as if it is not very often taken care of.
