The lagoons of the Hoyos de Pinilla are a jewel of the Sierra de Guadarrama, they do not have the greatness and magnitude of the cirques of the Peñalara massif but they are living and vital remains of the glacial events that modeled these mountains. The water level depends on the season and rainfall, in winter they are usually frozen and in summer there are barely two pools of water. The best time is spring, during the thaw.
