Renatured heap landscape Radovesice over about two kilometers: From the early 1970s to 2003, overburden from the Bílina lignite mine was deposited here in the original valley of a stream. In total, more than 680 million m2 of sand and clay were transported here: almost 70 times the volume of Bořeň. Four villages disappeared under the dump; the largest of them: Radovesice. At the moment the landfill is almost completely renatured, a pleasing open heath landscape with small lakes and a "butterfly reserve".
