Unfortunately, it is currently in a very dilapidated state, the renovation of the castle complex is being continued, a castle full of history and well worth seeing 👍.
There has been a museum in the castle since 1911. Despite the renovation, various areas can still be visited and there are changing special exhibitions.

The castle team deserves great respect and recognition, they are always there for the guests, answering questions and providing a lot of useful information about the history of the castle.
Rochsburg Castle, which was probably founded in the late 12th century, stands on a rocky outcrop above the village of Rochsburg, a district of Lunzenau, surrounded on three sides by the Zwickauer Mulde.
The overall medieval complex and its subdivision into the main castle, outer bailey and two ward buildings can still be seen clearly. In its current appearance, however, the castle dates from the late Gothic and Renaissance periods. Its main construction phases date from 1470 and from 1548; it is an important example of Renaissance architecture in Saxony. For centuries, the Rochsburg formed the eponymous center in the Saxon district of Rochsburg.
