Located on the right bank of the Agogna river, it rises between the countryside of Velezzo and Lomello, near the Balossina farmhouse and is dedicated to the Madonna dal Soc (log in Lomellino dialect).
Legend has it that a deaf-mute girl saw the Madonna appear on a floating log in the midst of the Agogna; in an attempt to recover it she falls into the water, was miraculously saved, and, returning home, she recounted the incident to general amazement. The trunk was recovered and taken to the church in Velezzo (or Lomello?) But the next day it was found in the place of the miracle. It was then decided to build the sanctuary ...
Probably founded in the first half of the 13th century, the building today presents itself with its rustic brick walls and the majesty of the avenue. This constructive feature and the distance from the inhabited center also suggests a resting place or a hospital, therefore the current construction could date back to the centuries of the great epidemics (16th and 17th centuries). Inside there is a beautiful fresco of the Virgin and numerous ex-votos, witnesses of the centenary popular devotion.
