The Castle of Acquarica dates back to the 15th century and in 1980 it became the property of the Colella family. Today it belongs to the municipality of Acquarica, which has temporarily closed access to renovate the entire building.

The original structure of the Castle was quadrangular in shape, with each side measuring 40 meters. The corners were equipped with four towers, one of which still exists today.
The oldest nucleus was built by the Norman feudal lords Bonsecolo and in all probability consisted of a wall reinforced by a tower.
