Historic Old Town + Sights – Dieburg 🚴‍♂️

Dieburg is a town with a historic tradition and a significant heritage of half-timbered buildings. The Renaissance town hall stood on the historic market square from around 1600. It was demolished in 1828 and replaced by the neoclassical town hall on the northeast side of the market square. A few years later, the district office was built next door in the same style. Today, both buildings are connected by a new building and serve as the town hall. The house at Markt 2 was built in 1512 and once housed the Electorate of Mainz's office. A high floating gable, which fell victim to a Baroque remodel, transformed the building into an imposing structure in the late Middle Ages. There are many gems and interesting things to discover around the old town center.🚴‍♂️
