In his colorful herb garden, Michel Schneider from the Kräuteralpe shows that many plants can still thrive at an altitude of 1,300 m if you know them well and know what they need to grow. Most of his herbs come to the highest schnapps distillery in the Allgäu right next door. The range of regional spirits, health and other products is correspondingly diverse. Opposite is the Hörmoos mountain inn with places to stop and stay overnight.

There is NO cherry, pear or plum schnapps here. There are only schnapps made from herbs, roots and berries, which are over 1300 mtr. to grow. As a result, the schnapps are also relatively expensive. Right next to it is a wonderful herb garden, where a lot of herbs can be seen and where Michel Schneider has put up many informative signs. Very interesting! for more information see kraeuteralp.de

Right next door is the Alpe Hörmoos, a restaurant run by the brother of the schnapps distiller Michael Schneider.

a gem at the foot of the Nagelfluhkette. Here there is allgäu highest Schnapps distillery, a very informative herb garden, good gastronomy, the Hörmooser lake and pure nature :)

Great Albgasthaus. Delicious food. Also overnight possible.
The Hochhäderich and Hochmoorgebiet is one of the most beautiful high valleys I know. Many hiking trails and MTB possibilities.
A trip there is worthwhile.

From the mountain station Imbergbahn, every hour a bus goes to the Alpe. From there you can make great walks and the way to Falkenköpfle, for example, is not so far.
