Monte do Gozo is a hill located about 5 kilometres from Santiago de Compostela, in Galicia, historically known for being the place from which pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago see the towers of the Cathedral of Santiago for the first time, marking the end of their long journey. Its name, which means "Mountain of Joy", reflects the excitement of pilgrims upon sighting the holy city.

Over the centuries, it has been a meeting and resting point for pilgrims before their arrival in Santiago. In 1993, on the occasion of the celebration of the Jacobean Holy Year, a large monument was inaugurated with two figures of pilgrims looking towards the cathedral, and infrastructures were built to accommodate pilgrims, such as a large hostel.
