The home is a former Zois portico with a carved year 1641, which is protected due to its historical significance. It stands at the edge of a meadow at the eastern foot of the Španov vrh ridge above the village of Javorniški Rovt. On 1 January 1953, the Jesenice Ironworks, which owned the building and the estate, relinquished the PD Javornik-Koroška Bela building in order to arrange a mountain lodge there. PD immediately arranged it and opened it on May 17, 1953 as Dom Pristava in Javorniški Rovt. In 1971, an extension for the kitchen and toilets was built, and several rooms were acquired. The interior of the home has been renovated and updated several times.
View:
The view from home is quite limited due to the forest surrounding the meadow. In the north, above Javorniški Rovt, rises the Čushka Struška, northeast of it stretches Belščica, and to the right of it is Stol, the highest peak of the Karavanke. For the view towards Julijci and Gorenjska, we have to climb the mountain meadows on Španov vrh; the effort will be richly rewarded with a view of Triglav and Škrlatica and Mežaklo in the foreground.
