The Koldinger Seen are part of a nature reserve and next to the Steinhuder Meer the most important bird resting area in the Hanover region. You have a good overview from the observation tower.

The Koldingen lakes have developed into an important breeding, resting and wintering area for the bird life. To date, over 240 different bird species have been identified here. This makes the nature reserve between Koldingen and Ruthe one of the most attractive places for bird watching in the Hanover region alongside the Steinhuder Meer. To keep it that way, the animals must not be disturbed or startled and the riparian zones must not be entered. Breeding and migratory birds can be observed from good cover from the observation tower that the Hanover region has erected on the western shore of the Great Koldinger See. Source: Hannover.de

Very nice and quiet landscape. To switch off and recharge your batteries just perfect. The lake is big but not too crowded, unlike the Maschsee (which is great too). Photographers get a lot in front of the lens here. Whether landscape or wildlife ... at the golden or blue hour. It is really worthwhile and you can come here several times to look for different spots.

The lookout tower is large, well covered. Weatherproof is definitely. It is very quiet, except for the sounds of nature of course. The atmosphere at the golden and blue hour is relaxing and you can really make up and enjoy the eyes. Again, it is worth taking photos.

Well-developed bike paths lead through the Kolding Lakes. There is a lookout tower from which you can watch the waterfowl. The area is a paradise for water birds. There are many benches on which you can take a break.

a beautiful area with numerous lakes and a lot of waterfowl. The paths in between are relatively easy to drive on when it's dry, there are a few deeper potholes, when it's wet the whole thing has to be enjoyed with a little more caution, but it's still nice.
