The castle is located directly above the famous brewery. When visiting, you can walk through both courtyards to the west terrace, from where there is a nice view of the valley of the river Svitava. The interior of the chateau is inadmissible to the public. The predecessor of the chateau was a Gothic castle, which was founded at the end of the 13th century by Matouš of Montenegro. Later in the 16th century it was rebuilt into a Renaissance chateau. After the castle burned down and left to its fate, activities to save and restore it took place from 1830. In 1975, the castle interiors were adapted for the needs of a retirement home, which is housed in it to this day.
