    In 1887 the church was inaugurated and fell into ruin in the 1980s. Today, the decay has been stopped by safeguards. It is located on the Inner Green Ring around Leipzig. In the sunshine an eye-catcher.

      Consecrated in 1867, the neo-gothic style church was partially destroyed in the Second World War and never repaired properly. To make matters worse in 1974 came damage from a lightning strike. Due to danger of collapse, the tower was demolished in 1975. What remains is a covered stump. In 1989, the church ruins were listed as historical monuments. Since 1997, services and concerts have been held there again. The surviving clockwork is back in operation, including the smallest and oldest of the Wachau bells dating back to 1465.
