Soğucak Plateau is a plateau located within the borders of Sapanca district of Sakarya province. Its size is officially 65.19 ha [1], in reality 90 ha[2].
There are caves, streams and endemic species around the plateau, which has an altitude of 1100 m[3].
It is 35 km from the center of Sakarya and 20 km from Sapanca. 16 km of the road is asphalt and 3 km is stabilized. The plateau can be reached in 35 minutes via the Sapanca-Muradiye-Istanbuldere (Erdemli) line.
On the plateau; activities such as trekking, camping, horseback riding, picnic, hunting can be done. Festivals are held in the 2nd week of July. Horse and bicycle races, wrestling and folklore performances are organized during the festival. During this period, the plateau experiences its most active time. In order to promote the plateau, it was decided to hold one leg of the Turkish Off-road Championship here[4].
5000 people annually visit the plateau where the forest administration's accommodation facility is located[3].
