Idyllic valley, great ascent on a racing bike. In the opposite direction, watch out for the descents towards the end, as the road in this area is no longer in the best condition

If you would like a short cut or just an idyllic and quiet valley away from the busy road, you should take a detour through the Benjental. Some restaurants in the Palatinate invite you to stop and there are also some nice stops in Gimmeldingen. But ATTENTION: the lower section in front of Gimmeldingen is peppered with a few holes.

The section runs parallel to the river Mußbach. It is a quiet valley with little traffic and low gradient. The flooring is mostly good asphalt. Only in the lower section of Gimmeldingen this is more of a patchwork with a few potholes (see pictures). Therefore you should be careful on a descent. On the way, the Waldgaststätte Benjental is a refreshment stop (with planned visit - check opening hours).
