The city was founded in 1689 by several families who are remembered in a monument made up of columns located in the Plaza de la Iglesia del Carmen. In 1692 it grew rapidly after a colossal fire that emptied the streets of Remedios, causing the population to move to Santa Clara. City founded by Marta Abreu and Leoncio Vidal. This is what is commonly known as Santa Clara but to me particularly what I like most of the few attractions that this site has are its religious architectures.
