There is also a drinking fountain in Göggingen for thirsty hikers. Currently (May '22) unfortunately not in operation. If that changes, please write a comment.

The historic drinking fountain in Gögginger Park in Augsburg is a remarkable example of the restoration of historic structures. Originally built around 1900, the fountain was restored in 2012 through a successful fundraising campaign by the Schwäbische Nachrichten newspaper and the efforts of trainees from the Office for Park Management.

The fountain is located in Gögginger Park, accessible via the Butzstraße entrance, and is usually in operation from April to October. It not only provides a historic landmark, but also a practical source of drinking water for walkers and visitors to the park.

The restoration of the fountain is a successful example of the commitment of the local community and the importance of preserving historic structures in public spaces.
