      The so-called colliery railway once ran across the Green Bridge from the Neesen freight yard (today: premises of PreZero/Tönsmeier) via Bölhorst/Häverstädt to the Dützen colliery. The railway tracks ended east of today's "Zechenstraße" (hence the street name), southeast of the Dützen windmill. In 1972 the train service on this route was discontinued. A possibly planned extension of the route to the Walllücke has never been realised.

        The Green Bridge Neesen is a railway bridge that spans the Weser River in the Neesen district of the East Westphalian town of Porta Westfalica. The branch line from Porta Westfalica to Häverstädt ran across it.

          The line subsequently served as a test track for the German Federal Railway and the Federal Railway Central Office in Minden, which tested, among other things, central buffer and automatic coupling operations. The line was finally closed in 1976.

          The embankments on the western bank of the Weser were interrupted and removed in several places for road construction. The Weser Bridge still stands today and appears as a technical monument in the Weser landscape. It is neither accessible by car nor by foot, and its use as a cycle path is occasionally discussed.

            The structure was built in 1938 and was provided with green corrosion protection, which gave it its name. The Porta Westfalica–Häverstädt railway line, which was built to transport iron ore from the mine in Häverstädt, runs over the bridge that characterizes the landscape. During the Second World War, the bridge was destroyed when the eastern pillar was blown up, the bridge buckled towards the Weser, and the bridge arch was preserved in an inclined position. The advancing US soldiers crossed the Weser south of the destroyed bridge and established a bridgehead on the eastern bank.[1] After the war the bridge was repaired again. After the iron ore mine was closed in 1963, freight traffic fell sharply; until 1967, the bridge was still used to transport sand-lime brick across the Weser with a connection to the German Federal Railway network.
