Protective purpose: Preservation of a part of the Elsenzaue with wet meadows, sedge reeds, reed beds that are sensitive to foot traffic, as well as farm meadows, copses and a pond as habitats for some highly endangered plants and animals
Particularities:
very rare animal species such as the endangered "short-winged sword cricket", which has its largest population in Baden-Württemberg,
other endangered and rare species such as marsh grasshopper, marsh cricket, gold cricket, saber-thorn cricket.
Furthermore, a number of special butterflies such as the highly endangered "Large Copper Butterfly", the "Small Copper Butterfly", various "Blue Butterflies" and the Aurora Butterfly.
Bird species include reed warbler, reed bunting, nightingale and cuckoo.
