Located at the tip of Penmarc'h, it was inaugurated in 1897, its construction was made possible thanks to a donation from the Marquise de Blocqueville, the daughter of Marshal of the Empire Davout, named Prince of Eckmühl following the victory of a Napoleonic battle. Noble materials were used during its construction. From its summit, it offers a breathtaking view of the entire Bay of Audierne.

65 meters high, the Eckmühl lighthouse was inaugurated in 1897. Its lights extend up to 45 kilometers to guide ships. The lighthouse is open to visitors. At the top of the 307 steps of the majestic spiral staircase, you have a breathtaking view of the bay of Audierne.
The lighthouse owes its name to Marshal Davout, named Prince of Eckmühl by Napoleon following victory in a battle.

The Phare d'Eckmühl is a lighthouse on the Pointe de Saint -Pierre in Penmarc'h in the French department of Finistère. Inaugurated on October 17, 1897, Phare d'Eckmühl, named after Maréchal Louis Nicolas Davout, Duke of Auerstädt, Prince of Eckmühl, is one of the tallest lighthouses in Europe, 60 meters high. The tower secures one of the most dangerous coasts of France due to many cliffs.
