There are several possibilities where you can start and jet along the Wandse. Best of all by bike, of course! If you want to do the entire route, start at the Spanish Steps on the Outer Alster, down the canal through Mundsburg - including cool houseboats for architecture fans. Or you can skip a few of the approximately 30 kilometers of Wandse and take the U1 to the Wandsbek Markt starting point. After a short tour upstream from there, the first highlight comes: Lots of greenery in the Wandsbek Botanical Special Garden. Most of the rest of the route is great for cycling. But beware! In Rahlstedt, the Wandse disappears under the local shopping center. The perfect opportunity for a coffee break before continuing.
