The Beuron Danube wooden bridge is a 73-meter-long covered wooden bridge and leads over the Danube at Beuron. It was put into operation in 1801 and served until 1975 the complete traffic. After the construction of a reinforced concrete bridge, about 100 meters down the Danube, it was dispensed with for traffic, completely restored in 1976 and returned to its original state. It was renovated in 2005 and is now only available to pedestrians and cyclists. [22] On a map, which is an appendix to the "Report Proofs of the Stift Beuronische Reichsunmittelbarkeit" of September 15, 1787, one recognizes that already in the 18th century, a covered wooden bridge existed.

The Beuron Danube wooden bridge is a 73 meter long covered wooden bridge and crosses the Danube near Beuron. It was put into operation in 1801 and served all traffic until 1975. Today a nice pedestrian bridge with very informative signs in it.

Anyone who doesn't visit Beuron, the monastery, and the surrounding area is missing out on something crucial!

Even those who drive will find a large parking lot here with a small fee. The monastery and several of the town's attractions are also accessible for people with walking difficulties.

A fire damaged the historic wooden bridge at Beuron Monastery, which is why it is currently closed. How long is uncertain. We liked using the bridge as an access route to the Eichfelsen-Panorama premium trail. This is no longer possible.
