The Flame Towers are an iconic trio of skyscrapers in Baku, Azerbaijan, and are one of the city's most recognizable symbols. The towers' name and design are inspired by the history of Azerbaijan, also known as "The Land of Fire." Fire has been an important symbol in the country, which is rich in natural gas resources, for centuries.
The three towers differ in form and function. The tallest tower is a residential building, the second tower houses a hotel (the Fairmont Baku), and the third tower is an office complex. Together, they form one of the tallest structures in the country. The towers were completed in 2012.
