Located between the Lower Rhine, the Ruhr area and Münsterland, Schermbeck in the Wesel district benefits from many positive influences. And combines living traditions - without being folkloristic. You can tell that from the people.
Home in your ear
Home is on the tip of your tongue here, or at least in your ear. Influences from Low German, Ruhr German and Rhenish are unmistakable. And we can also speak High German.
Fully catered for and well connected
Here you will find everything you need to live and feel good: primary schools and a secondary school where all school qualifications can be achieved, shopping opportunities; child and elderly care, voluntary work such as neighborhood advice, sports facilities such as SV Schermbeck or TuS Gahlen, culture and nature.
Outside, but always close
The entire municipal area is part of the Hohe Mark nature park and surrounds Schermbeck with extensive forests. The lush meadows of the Lippe and the Wesel-Datteln Canal invite you to go on long bike and hiking tours and make the large community area an ideal recreational area. You can clear your head here.
Directions
Many roads lead to Schermbeck. Our community is directly connected to two motorways:
A 31 (Bottrop/Gronau) with exit 37 Schermbeck and exit 38 Dorsten-Hardt/Gahlen
A 3 (Arnheim/Oberhausen) with exit 6 Wesel/Schermbeck
Quite well connected
The federal highway 58 runs past Schermbeck and forms a fast connection towards Dorsten-Wulfen/Haltern and Hünxe/Drevenack/Wesel. Coming from the north, the country road leads from the village of Erle to the town center. Coming from Dorsten, the Dorstener Straße also leads to the town.
Always on the move
Bus lines take you from Schermbeck to Wesel and from there to Wesel station to Deutsche Bahn. Line 71 provides a direct connection to Dinslaken and in the other direction via Erle to Raesfeld. Several bus lines connect Schermbeck and Dorsten every 20 minutes on weekdays. This makes Dorsten station with train connections to the Ruhr area and Borken easy to reach. At times the bus continues to Gelsenkirchen-Buer.
