Arendsee, the "Pearl of the Altmark", is a recognized climatic health resort.
The real pearl is the lake and the leisure and recreational opportunities it offers.
A replica Mississippi steamer makes its rounds on the lake every day during the season.
The most important sight is the late Romanesque monastery church, a beautiful vaulted brick building.
The path first leads to the fisherman from Arendsee, where you can enjoy, among other things, whitefish, the lake's specialty.
You never lose sight of the lake during the tour.
The hiker passes, among other things, a bird breeding habitat and the Försterwiese, a nature reserve.
Finally, the route goes through the city, either along the almost two-kilometer-long promenade or directly through the shopping street.
