With this section I would like to show that there are definitely ways to get along the rocky coast from San Josè to Cala de Monsul without using the road inland far away from the great rocky coast!
Background: During my planning for a day hiking tour from San Josè to Cala de Monsul and further to Cabo de Gata, despite an intensive search (including under "Discover" on Komoot or in tour suggestions from the nature park), I didn't find a continuous hiking trail or path anywhere discover the rocky coast. Again and again, many of the bays were only accessible via paths from the road to the coast. This section connects several bays to the east with the well-known Cala de Monsul. The path further east from Cala Chica to Cala Grande is described by another hiking section with the same name. Until then, there are paths from San Jose that can be easily found on the Komoot map. From the Cala de Monsul further west, paths can be found on the Komoot map - up to the slope to Cabo de Gata at the HL "Mirador". Hiking on this slope also leads through rocky landscapes, but often further away from the rocky coast and is tiring due to its length and monotony. Shortly before the cape there is another section on a narrower path. Between the last bay, Cala Carbòn, and the cape, there is no longer a path close to the towering, mighty rocky cliff - only individual paths in valley cuts down to small rocky bays.
Overall, you should plan a lot of time (a whole day) if you want to take in all the accessible bays.
