    Tower located on the rampart walkway, it was known in the 16th century as Torre de la Ladrona and de la Sultana. Its name was changed to La Cautiva because it was thought that Doña Isabel de Solís lived there, converted to Islam under the name of Zoraya, a favorite of King Muley Hacén.

        In the second half of the 15th century, the daughter of the commander of Martos, Isabel de Solís, was captured by the armies of Muley Hacén, king of Granada, during a battle between Christians and Muslims of Granada. Arriving at the Alhambra, the young girl was imprisoned in the Tower of the Thief or Sultana, which would eventually take on a new name after this legendary episode.

          This tower (Torre de la Cautiva) is on the roundabout of the wall and was known in the 16th century as the Tower of the Thief (Torre de la Ladrona) or Tower of the Sultana (Torre de la Sultana). It got its current name based on the assumption that Isabel de Solís lived there. She converted to Islam, changed her name to Zoraya and was the favorite wife of King Muley Hassan.
