                            The Wasserkuppe in the Hessian district of Fulda with a peak in the Gersfeld area is 950 m above sea level. NHN the highest mountain in the Rhön and at the same time the highest elevation in Hesse. The Fulda rises on the mountain, which is known nationwide as the "cradle of gliding"; another 30 streams have their origin here.
