The history of the "Old Fire Station" goes back to 1777, when the first fire station was built in front of the Ostertore. In 1935 the original fire station i.T.
demolished and replaced by a new building that essentially corresponds to today's appearance. Despite numerous protests, the historic Kiepehof was demolished for an extension in the 1960s. This functional building was demolished in 2011 after the fire station had been relocated and has now been replaced by a modern residential complex that successfully combines old and new.
