      "Our Forest Spirit Trail in Theinheim has been a popular excursion destination since 2008. The trail originated as an idea by innkeeper Michael Bayer. Certain trees, which were due for felling anyway, were cut down at great heights: Mysterious mythical creatures, animals, and plants were created from the tree stumps. (...) Here, the ghostly rider and the nymph meet. The snake with the crown tells a thrilling story. Her crown was once stolen while she was bathing, and as punishment for this theft, her vital water dried up. Here on the Forest Spirit Trail, hikers find the source of life, meet the forest hermit, King Karl, and Lilith, but Till Eulenspiegel also hid in the Theinheim forest. Michael Bayer succeeded in attracting national and international artists for this project. The Steigerwald Sculpture Trail was expanded in 2014 to include thirteen figures. In recent years, a total of six artists have worked on the forest spirits and legendary figures along the trail. Forest spirit path."

In recent years, a total of six artists have been working on the forest spirits and legendary figures along the forest spirit path. In terms of content and form, the artists' works are closely linked to their surroundings and the past, and they make mental references to historical people, events and legends. They give hikers leisure and a special experience of nature.

              A beautiful sculpture trail, but wind and weather, rain and snow, cold and heat, the forest's inhabitants leave their mark on the sculptures, so that some have already suffered significant weather damage. Growing vegetation in the forest also often makes it impossible to get close to the sculptures. Surely, the artists will have to create new sculptures in the coming years to breathe new life into the trail.
