Oud-Kraggenburg was once an artificial peninsula in the Zuidersee. Today it has become an elevation in the landscape since the Noordoostpolder was drained. A beacon and a lighthouse keeper's house stand on the elevation and make a nice photo opportunity. The listed buildings are privately owned, but can always be visited on the second weekend in September on Open Monumentendag ("Open Monument Day").

A lighthouse far from the coast? Before the sea surrounding the Oud Kraggenburg was drained when the north-east polder was built, this was a very small island. Now it can no longer be seen from the sea. Is privately owned, can only be viewed from (completely) outside.
