A number of very old trees have been lost due to wind damage in recent years. Some "conservationists" like to dam the water in the moat behind the castle, which means that many of the roots of the old trees are now in the water. As a result, they can no longer breathe and die, the trees die or the next storm knocks them over even more easily. And then of course there is also the beaver...
If this continues like this, in 10 years there will unfortunately hardly be anything left of the protected landscape park.

The Diedersdorf Castle Park is largely natural and was extended to the Halbesee in the 19th century. A few old trees and groups of trees, the pond with a watercourse and lines of sight that can still be seen point to a formerly landscaped park. These axes divide it into an ancient and a more modern part.
Unfortunately, the southern part of the park, which extends to the Halbesee, is no longer maintained. One has the impression that this is intentional. Since the castle is privately owned, you probably wouldn't want the park behind it to be visited by the public. Unfortunately, there are no signposts or information signs. Even the information board at the entrance to the castle has now disappeared.
