Rocky outcrop in the middle of the vines. It is an important archaeological site, which was occupied from the Paleolithic to the Neolithic because it was easily defensible and on the banks of the Loire. Many tools were discovered there (and exhibited at the Château d'Ancenis) as well as menhirs, of which only two are still present on the site.
The panoramic view is magnificent and the climb by the vine path is quite doable but reserved for mountain bikes and other gravels.
Picnic table behind the rock. Another below the site, under the trees.
The Jean-Claude Toublanc estate in which the site is located is renowned for its wines, in particular the Malvoisie Coteaux d'Ancenis.
In summary, a great ride, two pedal strokes from the Loire à Vélo.
