The Tündern windmill was built in 1883. She worked for a long time as a grist mill, so she made cattle feed. In 1921 the mill was electrified and in 1927 a roller mill for flour production was added.

As a district of Hamelin, Tündern is on the wonderful Weser Cycle Path. The Dutch mill is definitely worth a visit. Before continuing, I recommend a stop at a rustic coffee shop.

A real eye-catcher and a great, popular photo subject. The Dutch Windmill in Tündern is a technical monument dating back to 1883. It was built by the mill builder Redecker from Börry and stands at an impressive 17 meters high. The mill is located directly on the popular Weser Cycle Route and is a worthwhile destination for cycling tours in the region. It is currently undergoing extensive renovation to ensure its long-term preservation.

A particularly beautiful bike tour to the Dutch Windmill starts in Hameln and runs along the Weser Cycle Route. The route is approximately 27.3 kilometers long and takes around 1 hour and 47 minutes at a moderate pace. It mostly runs on paved paths, is suitable for all fitness levels, and offers charming views of the Weser landscape along the way.

Nearby is a cozy "Kaffestuuv" (coffee shop), ideal for a rest with coffee and cake. The mill is also a popular photo subject. Those interested can find out more on-site or via regional platforms such as regi-on.de.

This tour is a perfect combination of nature, technological history, and relaxation – ideal for a day trip by bike.
