The current Hoeve Vandewalle was renamed in 1405. It was called fief "Ten Driessche" or "Goet te Coppenholle". This farm is one of the oldest known farms in Kuurne.

The farm was inhabited after 1752 by Joseph Demasure, who was mayor of Kuurne at the end of the eighteenth century. The entire municipal domain, to which the Vandewalle farm now belongs, has an area of approximately 14 hectares. Its grounds used to belong to several owners, but the last known owner of the farm was Dekien-Georges Ide, an entrepreneur from Kortrijk. He sold the farm to the municipality in 1956. Because the Vandewalle children were the last inhabitants, it was well named "Hoeve Vandewalle".

After the purchase by the municipality, the farm was completely restored. The public library was housed in the stables for a while until they moved to the current library. The barn and stables were converted into a meeting center that is often used by the Kuurnse associations.
