The Ponte Vecchio from the 14th century is the oldest bridge in San Giovanni Bianco. This bridge was a fundamental cornerstone on which the Via Mercatorum was articulated, which connected Bergamo to the Valtellina rising from the lower Val Seriana.

The bridge connected some of the most important centers between the Brembana Valley and the Seriana Valley such as Serina, Dossena and Cornello.

Via Mercatorum was replaced, at the end of the sixteenth century, by a new road: the Strada Priula.

The fifteenth-century Via Mercatorum was replaced, at the end of the sixteenth century, by a new road: La Strada Priula.

This road connected Bergamo and the Valtellina along the Brembano valley floor up to Passo San Marco.

In San Giovanni Bianco the Strada Priula passed over the bridge with an arch that, still today, joins the banks of the Enna stream to the height of Palazzo Boselli, the crossing point between the streets.
