A special destination in Vöhrenbach is the Linachtalsperre.
It is the only series dam made of reinforced concrete in Germany and a building culture monument of national and special importance.
The Linachtalsperre was built between 1922 and 1925 and, after a long period of "sleeping beauty", was renovated and reactivated by the city of Vöhrenbach between 2005 and 2007.
Today, the structure with the dammed lake is once again used to generate environmentally friendly electricity and has become a tourist attraction.
On the hydropower educational trail between the power plant and the dam wall, visitors can find out about the technology and history of the dam. The circular path around the lake invites you to linger and those interested can experience how electricity is generated by hydropower during guided tours in the Art Nouveau power station house, which has been renovated true to the original.
The tourist information Vöhrenbach arranges guided tours.
