The benzene cleaning of the mine was abandoned in 1977. The contaminated terrain was renovated and prepared and in 1988 the Hansemann Park (officially: amusement park Adolf von Hansemann) was opened here with many green areas, which is located south of the former coal mine between the railway line and the Hansemannstraße. The park is well accepted as a recreational opportunity. A visit and a rest the park is always worth, albeit with some disadvantages.
