The Bleiswijkse Verlaat was of great value for the history and economic development of Bleiswijk and the polder area located near this location. Thanks to this lock, shipping from the polder could use the important shipping route over the Rotte to Rotterdam and further cities, such as Delft and The Hague.

The Bleiswijkse Verlaat is a lock with pointed doors between the Rottemeren and the Heulsloot near Bleiswijk in the municipality of Lansingerland, in the Dutch province of South Holland. The lock is no longer operated. The design of the lock dates from 1772. The current lock was completely restored in 1972. This happened again in 2015. The costs amounted to about 1.6 million euros. The lock no longer has a protective function, only a flood defense function, according to the Bleiswijk archaeological association and museum.

The lock length is 20 m, the width 3 m and the threshold depth BP -1.20 m. The lock still has the construction of locks from earlier times. The lock walls are not made of masonry, but of wood. The construction is fitted with wooden beams at the top. A comparable lock nearby is the Boterdorpse Verlaat. Behind the lock is a new fixed bridge, the clearance height is a few decimeters above the drainage level.

The lock was registered in the national register of monuments in 1974.
