Shortly after leaving Berkach it becomes very idyllic. The small Scheidgraben stream crosses the path. A soccer field is also available.

The Scheidgraben has a total length of 11 km and is largely a body of standing water without a great incline, comparable to a long pond. The Neckar used to flow in its bed and emptied into the Rhine at Trebur. These old Neckar loops are still clearly recognizable. In the period 1294-1365, the Neckar changed its bed as a result of severe flooding and now flows into the Rhine near Mannheim. A side arm continues to absorb the rivers of the Odenwald, but silted up over time. From about 1650, for example, the Weschnitz breakthrough directly to the Rhine is proven. All Odenwald tributaries are now canalized in the area of the upper Rhine plain.
