Old huts (Stará Hut' near Nemanice)
Stará Hut' is only 1.5 km east of Nemanice. The houses, in which only a few families still live, are spread over a distance of 400 meters. As early as the middle of the 17th century, one of the first glassworks in the area stood here, about which there were several disputes between the county and the Choden. In particular, it may have been the Wassersuppener Hütte, which was shut down before 1709. From then on, the village was only called Althütten.
A chronicler reports that the Counts of Stadion, who owned the place, ran a farm with over 60 cattle in 1833 and are said to have built a new hut for the shepherd. That will probably be true. Fake, on the other hand, is what you can find on the Internet at chodsko.net: "Stará Huť - train station without tracks!" There was once a thought about running the Domažlice - Cham railway line through a tunnel via Althütte, but this was never pursued and a train station was certainly not built in Althütte.
